Monte-Carlo set to welcome motorcycling’s finest: 1 & 2 December - Save the date!
The third edition of the glittering FIM Gala Ceremony will take place in the motorsport Mecca of Monte-Carlo on Sunday 2 December 2012. The two-wheel community will gather once again to celebrate and applaud the achievements of motorcycling’s finest and fastest riders, in this World famous setting. This season’s wide array of eventual FIM World Champions will take to the stage at the Sporting Monte-Carlo alongside invited legends from the various different disciplines for an award ceremony that will be attended by key industry, media, and broadcast live to a global audience.

Two days of activity are planned in the region, with the FIM General Assembly taking place at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort on Saturday 1 December, when delegates representing the 107 National Federations from around the World will congregate for their annual meeting. The impressive Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is owned by Monte-Carlo SBM which is a public limited company constituted under Monegasque law. Other notable establishments owned and managed by Monte-Carlo SBM include the Monte Carlo Casino, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and the Hotel de Paris in Monte-Carlo.

Monte-Carlo, which is the most elegant area of the Principality of Monaco, is World known for being a favourite destination for the planet’s highest profile celebrities, as well as being widely recognised for its casino and unique street racing circuit that plays host to the F1 Championship each year. The sea front location with its impressive harbour adds to the overall ambience of this wonderful setting which has a history as rich as some of those that continue to visit Monte-Carlo today.

Speaking about this year’s forthcoming FIM Gala Ceremony Vito Ippolito, FIM President stated. “In a very short amount of time the FIM Gala Ceremony has grown into a very special and important occasion to celebrate motorcycling and its great champions both past and present. Monte-Carlo is a truly unique place and is sure to provide an exceptional backdrop to yet another great evening, when the World of motorcycling can come together as one to enjoy and applaud the efforts and bravery of the many riders who give us such great action and entertainment throughout the season.”

Vito Ippolito continued. “I think everyone from around the World is aware of Monte-Carlo’s historic association with motorsport amongst many other great things and thus it is fitting that we should now be adding the FIM Gala Ceremony to the list of events that have been hosted in this iconic place.”
